Film and Video

 

  Katalina is an expert in experimental film and cinema, she conducted research and lectured in this subject and took part in numerous international film productions  including productions of the US TNT, the Russian Lenfilm Studios and many others.

  Her own experiments with video started in the year 2000. In 2004 Katalina's first short film, 'Storm' (7.50 min)  was screened at the Watershed Media Centre in Bristol, UK. Similarly as in photography, Katalina records moods, feelings and ideas working with musical compositions, creating small poetical peices. Katalina's professional inspirations include some of the great experimental filmmakers such as Dziga Vertov and Leger

2004 - ‘Storm’, a digital retrospective show of images of artwork, first screened at the Watershed Media Centre in Bristol, UK.

2006 - ‘The Vibraphonist’, montage of photographs from A. Chizhik's concert in the Small Hall of the St Petersburg Philharmonic, in June 2004, Russia. 

2007 - ‘Top Sectret’ - short video film, a cityscape of Saint-Petersburg in Russia, arranged to music by Sade Adu and Stuart Matthewman ‘Haunt Me’.


2007 - ‘El Capitalismo’ - montage of digital images based on the artists photographs of Saint-Petersburg, Russia, arranged to music by the Gotan Project ‘El Capitalismo Forreneo’.


2008 -  'The Cherry Garden', a visual  'fairy-tale', a montage of photographs of the Clifton area of Bristol, UK, arranged to music by Santana, 'Samba Pa Ti'.

2008- 'The Orchestra', montage of photographs of The Cube Orchestra in Bristol, UK

2008 - 'Sway'short film about love, arranged to Dean Martin's 'Sway'

2009- 'Strange Night', a short film about Bristol composed to contemporary Russian music.

2009 - 'Hay' - a short film in the form of 'ballad' about the Hay on Wye Literature Festival and The Globe.
